Profile

Silvia Heidel, born in Entre Ríos, studied various disciplines related to artistic production: music, painting, literature, psychology. Although she has always been an indefatigable reader and an occasional writer, she began to develop the bulk of her work, in a sustained manner, during the last decade, simultaneously perfecting her knowledge and techniques in institutions such as Casa de Letras, UBA, Universidad de Villa María (Córdoba), and others.

Her passion for letters was awakened at a very early age, when she was in contact with accredited teachers in a rural educational establishment, close to her parents' home. There she learned to read and write, long before starting primary school. It was also at this magical moment of childhood that he learnt the first rudiments of painting, as his father was an excellent draughtsman, portraitist and landscape painter.

His first published work was "Con todos los sentidos", short stories and tales, in 2013, followed by "Cuando el silencio habla", poems, in 2016. After an impasse, at the end of 2021 he published two novels: "2032 Historia de una pandemia" and "El Ñato y yo", and five collections of poems: "Cuando el silencio habla" (reissue), "Con esta garganta", "Desde los intersticios", "Como pájaros" and "Catálogo de la sombra", and in 2022, a new collection of poems entitled "ElegíaparaunNO", available in bookshops and on Amazon.com.

With an unusual creative energy, he has developed in different formats a universe where abstract figurative styles converge in painting; versolibristic in the poetry of thought; science fiction, dystopia, costumbrist fantasy in prose. There, with pen or brush, the author exposes us to a variegated, explosive world, rich in powerful images, where she speaks of her favourite themes: the approach to the mystery of artistic production, love, pain, hope and happiness, oblivion and memory, nature and its depredation, death and violence, injustice and inequality, motherhood, gender issues, technology as a threat or solution, reading and knowledge as the great engine of the evolution of the individual. We can say that his work reflects the times, with a modern, vibrant and topical language.
